Energy Economics, Inc.
Energy Economics
is a unique engineering firm. Our
principals, all Registered Professional Engineers, personally provide the full
range of our services on each project, from conceptual analysis to routine
calculations. Each engineer's knowledge
and experience with HVAC, Electrical, and Life Safety systems allows him to
approach projects in ways that recognize interactions among the disciplines.
Our
approach is based on understanding how systems actually work. Using both technical analysis and field
testing, we aim to identify and solve problems cost effectively. Many clients view Energy Economics as an
extension of their own staffs, providing expertise on HVAC, electrical power
distribution, lighting, industrial ventilation, refrigeration, and cogeneration
systems. Typical assignments include:
• Define system performance requirements and
identify design constraints; act as interpreter among owner, designers, and constructors;
develop innovative concepts and help gain approval from utilities and local
authorities. On design/build projects,
we can create a detailed "Scope of Work," a contract document that
establishes measurable performance criteria for the completed systems.
•
Perform independent analysis of design documents before construction. Whether the project is design/build or
"plan and spec", this process often identifies alternatives to
enhance performance, first cost, operating cost, and serviceability.
• Track loads and capacity of central systems (HVAC
and electrical) to determine how to accommodate additions and changes -
important when developing and operating complex or multi-tenant projects,
especially retail centers.
• Evaluate systems and equipment on site to monitor
job progress, diagnose operating problems, assess condition, or represent the
Owner during startup and acceptance tests.
• Investigate disputes and provide engineering
opinions to resolve controversy, including expert testimony and assistance in
mediation.
Energy Economics, Inc. was incorporated in 1979 and
brings together the varied backgrounds described in the individual engineers’
biographies._
